Annapurna area was first explored by the British adventure Col. James O.M. 'Jimmy' Roberts in the year of 1956 and exposed to the world as the 'Sanctuary of Gods'. This trek is one of the most popular treks in the Himalaya of Nepal. It’s good introductory route and closely encounter with Himalayan with in a short period of time. You’ll explore the heart of the Annapurna’s as you trek into the Annapurna base camp, is the most spectacular spot for dramatic view and lay out of 11 towering snow capped peaks. The trail follows forested path and crossing the local houses with knowledge of local culture. This trek offers you fantastic view of snow capped high mountains and landscapes of terrace field and also hassle free of the high altitude sickness.
This trek starts from little west part of Pokhara valley and the trek combines spectacular mountain scenery with incredible and cultural diversity and traverses through rural farms and villages. The trail leads towards the deep gorge between the peaks-Hiunchuli and Machhapuchare through the dense bamboo forest up to the Sanctuary via Modi valley. Once into the Sanctuary you will be in the midst of amphitheater of snow peaks Annapurna I (-8,091m) and other major peaks overlooking the Sanctuary include the Annapurna south (7,219m), Gangapurna (7,455m) and Annapurna III (7,555m).

Deatil Itinerary for Annapurna Base camp Trek - 18 Days Trip
Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft).
Namaste & welcome to Himalayan Planet of Nepal. While you landed at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Himalayan Planet Adventures representative welcomes you with your name and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, bring you at head office and briefing about the program and evening we’ll pick up you for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural program in the heart of Kathmandu and overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: A Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.
After your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise.After visiting Bouddhanath stupa we’ll drive to the City of Devotees (Bhaktapur). This traditional and traffic free town is the third biggest town in the Valley. We’ll explore the medieval like squares, courtyards and temples of this vibrant town. After a stop for lunch at restaurant in Bhaktapur it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu and meet up with your travel consultant & fellows to prepare for next day and overnight at the hotel. Alternatively, the same group may have option to choose same 3 sightseeing place inside Kathmandu valley instead of these given place.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara valley (823m/2,700ft).
With a morning wake up guide will pick up you and transfer to the tourist bus station and drive (approximately seven hours with breaks) through the beautiful river view & Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara lakeside and transfer to the hotel and rest of the time explore the surrounding lakeside areas and overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m/5,173 ft).
Today, morning a short drive (90 minutes) continues along with the great scenery passing through several countryside villages all the way up to Nayapul, where from our adventure begins from the warm sub tropical region and follows the Modi River to Birethanti where you can see the confluence of the two river of Modi and Bhurungdi khola. We trek to Bhurungdi Khola with scenery of waterfall, high green forest and follow the stabilized trail and after 3-4 hrs continuing walk will reach at Tikhedhunga village for overnight stay, where you can enjoy the cool splash of the cascading waterfalls.

Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,350ft).
Morning we prepare for the long uphill and start with steeply ascends on the long stone steps to Ulleri village with the amazing landscape and Annapurna Himalayan scenery. This scenery gives you inner power to climb up these steps and immerse you to walk more. After few hours of long hard climb with several breaks in between reaching at Ulleri village, from here the path is gradual on the winding trail through the cool shade of forest and stream sound, we continues walk in the midst of the giant rhododendron forest and finally reaches you at Ghorepani for overnight stop. Ghorepani Deurali is a busy spot on the ridge in the midst of the beautiful rhododendron forest, offering fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range. Our trek leader will brief you for your Poonhill hike and remaining program.

Day 06: Pun hill hike and trek to Tadapani (2,710m/8,891ft).
As briefing yesterday evening, we hike to early morning for 40 minutes up to Pun hill and en-route offering the glimpse of aurora walking through the pleasant rhododendron forest. Pun hill named after the hill tribe Pun, inhabitants of Ghorepani/Shikha village. This is wide range of panoramic scenery from the far western Himalaya of Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna including Mt. Machhapuchre (Fish Tail) and all the way to Manasalu Himalayan range. It is picturesque Himalayan scenery and good memorable moments spending an hour to the top. After a great time return back to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue trek to onward destination, the walk passes through the Rhododendron, Pine and fur forest with up and downs hill and finally you will reaches at Tadapani for overnight at local teahouse. This is a great place surrounding by rhododendron forest with closest view of Mt. Fish Tail.

Day 07: Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,210m/7,249 ft).
The trail is steeply downhill to the Kimrong Khola through clean forest of oaks and rhododendrons with closest view of the Annapurna south & Fish Tail. After crossing the suspension bridge the trail follows up to the Gurjung village for your lunch stop. Further trek leads uphill for half an hour, once at the top of the ridge the walk is fairly easy all the way to village of Chhomrong the last village and the gateway to the Sanctuary. One of the biggest Gurung village in the surrounding area and we stop here in hotel.

Day 08: Chhomrong to Dovan (2,600m/8,528 ft).
Today, our trail leads to the long terrace village & farm fields as you descent to the Chhomrong Khola, after the bridge its uphill most of the way for 2 hours till a small place of Sinuwa hill. Further trail leads down hill for 2 hour through the bamboo bushes till you reach at Bamboo, a place in the midst of the bamboo and rhododendron and oaks forest with couple of teahouses. After lunch stop here an hour walks on the gradual uphill path brings you to Dovan for overnight stay, Dovan means confluence of river where is few teahouses surrounding by bamboo forest.

Day 09: Dovan to Machhapuchre Base Camp (MBC- 3,700m/12,139ft).
The trail continues for about 2 hrs. from here the route winds up steeply to a bank of rock and then level out, running through thickets of Bamboo at the bottom of the gorge, keeping always on the west side of the river, then reaching to a small shrine at Panchen Barah, from here the trail climbs to Himalaya Hotel. It’s about an hour walk, first on a rocky trail through forests then up to the Hinku cave, where from the trail crosses a ravine and major avalanche track just further till Deurali (3,000m/9,840 ft) for lunch. After lunch the trail continues into the sanctuary, it crosses two wide avalanche tracks on a narrow trail that huddles up against the cliffs and get Bagar. After here climb across more avalanche paths cross a moraine, then climb towards an area known as Machhapuchre Base Camp (MBC) for overnight stay with the closest view point of the Machhapuchre along Annapurna ‘I’, Gangapurna and few peaks.

Day 10: Machhapuchre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC- 4130m/13550ft).
This morning walk leads you in the heart of the Sanctuary at the ABC for overnight stay. The trail follows uphill for few hours passing a few roofless shepherds huts along the side of a moraine and this area is cold and windy and often snowbound. This is superb scenery of the Himalaya and can be seen rarely this amazing panoramic view of snow capped mountains surrounding you. Full day you have time to explore and relax at the sanctuary in your way.

Day 11: Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) to Bamboo (2,300m/7,544 ft).
This morning wake up with glimpse of sunrise view on top of the Annapurna ‘I’ and after a great time retrace the journey back to Bamboo for the overnight. As you know that here as well few guest house settled for the purposes of tourism service. You can rest and relax at the evening with a good memorable view of the many snow capped peaks and enjoy the dinner.

Day 12: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,780m/5,859 ft).
This morning walk leads to a short climb to Khuldi Ghar and retract to Sinuwa hill, here after long downhill to the Chhomrong Khola and trek up to the Chhomrong.After a lunch break trek steeply descend towards the Jhinu for overnight stay. You may have chance to visit natural hot spring down to the stream and enjoy the dip bath and relax.

Day 13: Jhinu to Tolkha (1,730 m./5709ft).
In the morning you can enjoy good scenery having breakfast. We then trek down towards the Modi River at Phedi between Landruk and New Bridge. After crossing Modi Khola (Name of stream) on a suspension bridge with a view of wild honey bee hives on the rocky cliff, from here the trail leads to a gradual climb all the way to Landruk village for lunch. From here the path leads to a gradual walk on the winding trail for an hour to a small settlement at Tolkha for the overnight stay.

Day 14: Tolkha to Dhampus (1,640 m.) to Pokhara.
Tolkha gives grand views of Annapurna south and Hiunchuli can be seen right from your room. With the lovely morning at Tolkha, our journey continues on the gradual winding path towards Bhaise Kharka a small settlement at the base of the hill, from here it is less than an hour climb through the beautiful rain forest to the top of the ridge at Deurali, the highest point of this trek. From here one can view Mt.Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Mt. Machhhapuchre.After Deurali the trek continues down through the forest on awide path with wonderful scenery. After an hour you reach Pothana village situated in the midst of the forest with awesome views of the Annapurna and Manaslu range. After having lunch, you trek down to the village at Dhampus with its fabulous mountain scenery. From Dhampus an hours descent brings you to Phedi for the smooth drive to Pokhara. upon reaching Pokhara by the Phewa Lake side and we will return to our hotel to stay overnight.

Day 15: A Guided sightseeing in Pokhara Valley.
After your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip in Pokhara valley and visit the highlights of Pokhara and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Bindabashini, which one most important popular Hindu temples in pokhara. Two hour boating in phewa lake and visit the barahi temple which one in island in phewa lake. After this we will take you to Davi;s falls (water fall) The water is come from phewa lake by underground and water came out in here and falls start again goes from underground. Ghupteshower cave which is beside the falls. In this cave it is possible to go inside and from the last stop you can see the same devi’s falls water and you can see where is this water going.After Davi’s falls and Gupteshower cave we’ll bring to you Tibetan refugee camp where the Tibetan people lives and do some business. One the way back to hotel we will show you pokhara cities around in Mahendrapul which means there is one bridge in seti river but we can’t see the water only we can hear the water sound. And this area is big shopping area for local people. This river is one of the deepest river in Nepal. After all of that we will back to hotel and free.

Day 16: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft).
Morning we’ll drive back through the scenic countryside and en route will stop for breakfast & lunch. It takes 7 hours back to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu guide will transfer to the hotel and rest of the day relax or explore the surrounding areas and overnight at hote.,

Day 17: Leisure at Kathmandu.
This pleasant day you may have full day at leisure at your own or can be extends your extra trip with us on additional cost or time to explore the Thamel for last day shopping and evening company will meet you for the farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 18: Departure from Kathmandu.
Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until your departure flight/drive or to commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination. (Breakfast included).
